Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Solar Care ("Solar Care," "we," "us") collects through the Solar Care application and this website, why we collect it, and how it's protected. Solar Care is a business-to-business platform used by solar installation companies ("Companies") and, through each Company's own account, their customers ("Customers").
1. Who this applies to
Solar Care is provided to Companies, who invite their own staff and customers into their private company workspace. If you're a Customer using a portal account, your Company remains the primary controller of your information within that workspace — this policy describes how Solar Care itself handles data on their behalf, as their data processor, as well as data we collect directly through this website.
2. Information we collect
Account information. Name, email address, and phone number for anyone who signs in to Solar Care, provided at signup or invitation.
Company & customer records. Customer names, contact details, tax ID, addresses, site locations, and related business records that a Company enters to operate their business — solar system specifications, installation and service history, invoices, and payments.
Monitoring data. Solar production, battery, and grid data collected from connected inverter/monitoring hardware (via supported vendor APIs) or entered manually by staff.
Communications. Messages sent within the app's support/messaging features, and any message you send us through this website's contact form or email.
Usage & device information. Basic technical information needed to operate the service securely — timestamps, device/browser type, and IP address associated with sign-in activity.
3. How we use information
- To provide and operate the Solar Care application for each Company and their invited users.
- To send account, security, and service-related notifications (invitations, service ticket updates, alerts) — including transactional email sent via our email delivery provider.
- To maintain the security, integrity, and availability of the platform, including detecting misuse.
- To respond to support requests submitted through the app or this website.
- To improve the product, using aggregated or de-identified information wherever possible.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use Company or Customer data to serve advertising.
4. How information is shared
Within a Company's workspace, information is visible only according to each user's role — enforced at the database level, not just in the app's interface. Between Companies, data is fully isolated; no Company can see another Company's records.
We share information with a small number of service providers who help us operate Solar Care, each only with the access needed to perform their function: our database and application hosting provider, our transactional email provider (for invitations and notifications), and, where a Company has connected them, third-party solar monitoring/inverter platforms. We do not permit these providers to use Company or Customer data for their own purposes.
We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Solar Care, our users, or the public.
5. Data retention
We retain account and business records for as long as a Company's workspace remains active, plus a reasonable period afterward to meet legal, accounting, or dispute-resolution obligations. A Company may request deletion of their workspace's data, subject to any retention we're legally required to maintain.
6. Security
Access to data is controlled by row-level security policies enforced by our database, role-based permissions, and authenticated sessions. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we design and review the platform's access controls as a core part of the product, not an afterthought.
7. Your choices
If you're an individual Customer or staff member using Solar Care through a Company, requests to access, correct, or delete your personal information should generally go to that Company first, since they control your account within their workspace. 8. Children's privacy
Solar Care is a business platform and is not directed to, or knowingly used by, children.

We'll update the "Last updated" date above when this policy changes, and post the revised version here.
